The International Kerry Bog Pony Association was founded in 2016 by a small group of Kerry Bog breeders. We exist to maintain and ensure the integrity of the records of each Kerry Bog Pony and any affairs that impact the preservation of the Kerry Bog Pony. To accomplish this purpose, the Association will utilize current scientific and administrative concepts and techniques to ensure all registrations and transfers are carried out according to the Rules and Regulations of the IKBPA, while verifying that the Rules and Regulations are applied to all individuals in a non-discriminatory manner.

We at the IKBPA realize that the breed and its members can benefit from the use of the most current scientific and technological advances. Such advances include blood testing, coat color confirmation, and DNA testing using the University of California Davis, America's leading DNA Laboratory.

The International Kerry Bog Pony Association strives to provide a neutral and healthy relationship with members and enthusiasts to create a fun, ethical, and educational atmosphere for all who work to preserve and promote the Kerry Bog Pony. Therefore, the Association encourages all members and enthusiasts to conduct themselves in an honest, forthright, ethical and sportsmanlike manner in their relationship with each other any time they are involved in Kerry Bog Pony related matters.

The founding members of the International Kerry Bog Pony Association consist of:

Dr. Bridget Houston, and June Houston of Michigan, United States. A mother-daughter team with the dream of uniting all Kerry Bogs and their human guardians across the globe, Bridget acts as President and public relations director for North America, while June acts as Registrar.

Liam Condon of Limerick, Ireland acts as our Vice President and public relations director for promoting the breed in Ireland and its neighboring countries.

Arlene Aston of Down, Ireland acts as our Treasurer... as well as the lucky human guardian of The Spotted Badger, the breed's biggest treasure!

Stephanie Distl of Niederösterreich, Austria acts as our Secretary and public relations director for promoting the breed in the European countries.
